Motion Light Lab

Who are we?

MOTION LIGHT LAB IS A SPACE WHERE CREATIVE LITERATURE MEETS DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY TO CREATE IMMERSIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES.

We are an award-winning research & development lab focusing on developing learning experiences based on VL2 research. Motion Light Lab is one of four hubs housed under the Science of Learning Center on Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2). We are interdisciplinary, bringing people in from different departments: Art, Deaf Studies, Communications, Psychology, Neuroscience, Education, Information Technology, and more.

Motion Light Lab started in 2009 by a collective group of people who wanted to explore creativity, art, design, aesthetics, and our understanding of the world as mapped by academia. Inspired by knowledge, research findings, and scientific evidence coupled with an innate desire to explain and realize ideas, we started a few projects. Then a few more, and that brought on the next wave of projects. Fast forward to now- we are still brewing excellent ideas and executing them as we go.

Our biggest one to date is this very training program. And you better believe it when we say we are excited.
